Since I did my hot desi men list, here's a list for the ladies...as well as yesterday's male/female list too

So after doing the list for my version of the hottest Desi guys, I've inspired veracious and ajnabi with their list. BTW, thanks for the credit. As I looked over their list and mine...wow, I really am shallow. I picked mostly male models, hahaha. Yes, I do like that look. I think Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar are very good looking, they are just not my version of hot. Both just don't tickle my funny bone the way the others do.

Well, ajnabi challenged me to do a list of females and yesterday stars. Oh gosh, that was the hardest to think about. Here is my dilemma. Just thinking about it, I know I am going to get crucify by saying this.....I like my male models. I like the six-pack abs, ken-doll look. On top of that, me drooling for an older guy in back in his prime is hard to do. Since I can't see their physique built, I don't know if I can call my list of male yesterday stars "hot." I know, I'm shallow. I proudly admit it. Even though I can not do a list of "hot" yesterday stars, I can do a list of male-yesterday stars who I thought were good looking when they were younger. That would sound better. To me, it's like telling my dad or even grandfather that I think some of his friends hot back then.

Here is my list of good looking male-yesterday stars.

Shashi Kapoor
Dreamy....no other explanations

Rajesh Khanna
This picture alone, doesn't do justice how good looking he is

Dharmendra
Handsome now and then

Kumar Gaurav
Always known as Bunty to me, I adored him since Love Story.
For those who are unfamiliar with this cutie, read up on my Romance review.

Rahul Roy
He was able to rock the look of the long hair back then. Plus he looked so handsome. Better caps on soon-to-be reviewed movie Aashiqui. Just reviewed on 09/24/2008 - read here.

Just like the male models, I do like the look of a well-tone female too. A handful of the ladies I chose are who I find extremely attractive in appearance with the way they present themselves by their style. I don't judge acting because I don't care. If I think someone is good looking, then they are. No if's, and's, or but's. People say looks don't matter but they really do. If that person didn't have the physical look when you first meet him/her, you may not even given that person a chance. I'm not saying that personality doesn't matter. It does to a certain extent. Everyone is cool after you get to know someone. Why do you think in every circumstance that when a guy and girl spend enough time together, they will eventually have feelings for each other? One will always fall for the other. Okay, I'm rambling. I'm good for doing that and speak what is on my mind.My list of females who I think are gorgeous. Again, I don't care if they can't act. I just think they're gorgeous and have a fit figure. People may disagree but that's okay, this is my opinion. I may not have listed the girl-next-door look, but I do like it too. Just not on my top list. This list is definitely very superficial. If you want me to do a list of actresses who can act and is pretty, that can be accomplished too.

Bipasha Basu
No surprise huh? Don't be. If you didn't read why I love this woman. Read it here.

Lisa Ray
Ever since I saw her modeling pictures when she was younger, I was a fan of her exotic look. The Polish-Indian model turn actress is well-known in her role in Water but I enjoyed her in Bollywood Hollywood more.

Malaika Arora-Khan
Some people will argue with me and say that she's skanky. I disagree. I think she's sexy. So what if she's a mom. She's still smoking hot! I love the fact that she didn't stop being sexy after being a mom. More props to her for that.

Lara Dutta
Since I've been following her career since Miss India Universe, I'm a bit biase towards her. Like Bipasha, both women just has that oomph screen presence. One of my favorite Koffee with Karan episode is when Lara and Bips both appeared together.

Sameera Reddy
Besides the olive skin, there's just something about her look that I love.

Riya Sen
Can't act. But she sure is sexy and has seducing eyes. A lot of my Lao and Hmong friends love her. They wish they had her look.

And now female-yesterday actresses. These are the ladies who I think were gorgeous at the peak of their careers and am a fan of.

Zeenat Aman
Defining sexy at that era, she was also a good actress.

Tina Munim
On top of her youthful, sweet, innocent look that I adored, she was an underrated actress. Watch her in Yeh Vaada Raha.

Padmini Kolhapure
Ever since I saw her debut film Ahista Ahista, I've have a soft spot for her.

Parveen Babi
Elegant and beautiful. RIP.

Mumtaz
Lastly but not forgotten, the gorgeous, underrated actress.

  1. Your list certainly takes care of several decades of Bollywood! Muscles werent quite in, in the 60s and 70s so I guess most of the actors just arent in the same body class as today's. But what about Vinod Khanna and Ranjeet? Surely they were muscular enough to appeal to you - apart from being dangerously good looking?

As to women, I think there are very few actors who are less than gorgeous. What they lack in looks they usually make-up for in style and oomph. And I think Bipasha can act - she just never gets the chance to show her acting chops.

  2. Hey bollyviewer - :) Oh gosh, yesterday I did some deep thinking about Vinod Khanna. He is good looking.....BUT.....my conclusion was, I prefer his sons' looks over him. Therefore, I didn't add him to the list. As for Ranjeet, I have no idea who he is. :( Although I looked him up and he's in some movies I've seen, his face is name is still unfamiliar with me.

I agree with the women. Many are so beautiful, it was hard for me to choose. So I just stuck to the ones who gives that extra icing on the cake, for me.

  3. Wow, Nicki, awesome picks! I am so totally with you on Dharmendra and Mumtaz--I'm not sure why I left them off my list. Oh, and Lara Dutta is another fave but she looks post-plastic-surgery to me so I was on the fence as to whether or not to choose her. (I know most have "work done," but I don't like it being rubbed in my face LOL)

  4. ajnabi - Aaaw, glad you like Dharmendra and Mumtaz too. About Lara, I don't see it though. Even if she was, I wouldn't care.

  5. Lara Dutta in her best roles reminds me of Zeenat Aman in her best days.. Especially in JBJ, she's just so classily, graciously sexy, just like Zeenat back in the day. Am I the only one who agrees with this, I'm not sure. :D

  6. Hey veracious - Interesting observation but I always thought as Bips as Zeenat Aman.

  7. I so agree with your List, great that you included Tina, she's so beautiful, she came to my attention in Yeh vaada raha, read your review on that, funny how that movie was very popular among Nigerians as well, think it was, if not even more popular than Sholay :o)
