Another SURYA post

Besides the ones that were posted here

Just cause I'm promoting his next film, Ayan, hahaha. He's gorgeous. Now, I MUST see this in the theater.

I don't care about the synopsis.

Seriously, I don't. That's how much of a fangirl I am of Surya!

Okay, the purple pants gots to go but he's still so cute! Look, that could've been me next to him! Hahaha. Wonder which country/city this still was taken. Update 04/14/2009 - in Malaysia. Thanks BSS

I love the one of her kneeling while he sweeps his arm around. It looks like he's telling her, "Kneel in front of me! In front of me, I said!" LOL I think it's hilarious that you don't care about the plot. Awesome, fangirl!

I want to see it for Tammana, 'cause she's one of my latest obsessions, but she and Surya make a good pair :) And while I'm not a fangirl, he IS easy on the eyes, and his six-pack isn't bad, either ;)

Tamanna is one of the lead girls in the movie "Happy Days" in case you haven't seen it yet.

I would really like to watch the Tamil Ghajini! Surya looks interesting (as an actor!) :D

ajnabi - I am really considering watching Ayan soon. If not this weekend, then definitely Sunday or so. I <3 Surya.

lapetitediva - Tammana is a cutie. She looks a lot better now (from the movie stills with Surya & Sid). Surya is just so adorable. Yep, he's a cutie. Plus his acting is good and choices of films are worth mentioning. :)

anonymous - yes, I knew Tamanna was in Happy Days but she's coming out in back-to-back films with Sid and Surya now.

I started watching Happy Days but couldn't finish because had to turn electricity off last night when it was hailing!!

BhargavI think you will really like Surya as an actor. If you like Aamir, you'll like Surya

Shekhar Kammula - the director of Anand, Godavari and Happy Days is a versatile director. The themes are all different in his movies.

I think you will like Happy Days too (I did). The story, direction, performances and music were all good. There is only one thing I noticed which i will share after i read your review.

anonymous - I definitely will finish watching Happy Days tonight. I had so much to do last night and wake up early this morning. So watch out for review. :)

Dear Niki,
It is good that you have finally discovered Surya and the regional movie industry of India. As a fan of Tamil movies, I always find it sickening especially the references in the Western press and of non-Indians like you who think that Indian cinema is Hindi cinema and that Hindi cinema is Indian cinema. India is the only country in the world with nearly 10 films industries in different languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannadam, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Orissa, Bhojpuri and Asamese -- if I have left any language out, please feel free to correct me).

Instead of celebrating its many thriving and not so thriving film industry (the film industry in the North India expect for Bengali films and Bhojpuri films are reeling under the onslaught of Hindi films. In the south, despite the presence of Hindi film and Hollywood films, the Southern film industry continues to thrive. Make no mistake, in Tamil Nadu, it is Rajni who is king not Shah Rukh Khan and the same is true of Telugu films where Cheranjeevi has a fanatical following) the Northern controlled English media seems to think that the only films that matter are Hindi films.

Once in a while in a very condescending manner they will deign to feature some articles on Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam or Kannada movie personalities. They lump everything under the banner South films not realising that each of the southern film industry has its own uniqueness. And an actor who is very popular in Tamil films may be an unknown in other South films.

One of the most shocking things about Indian film industry is how the Hindi-speaking North is very ignorant of the Southern films and has hardly seen many films from the South. The great Sivaji Ganesan is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors India has ever produced but many people in the Hindi speaking belt hardly know of him.

It is sad that after more than 60 years of independence, the Indian government has not done much to integrate India by trying to get Indians from all over the country to watch each others movies.

Now that you have discovered that India is not Bolllywood and Bollywood is not India, here's wishing you a happy discovery of new facets of India via its different film industry.

BSS - thanks!! I will correct my blog. I really appreciate you telling me this.

Sakuntala - Hello. I thank you very much for the lengthly comment and thoughts. Plus I really appreciate you reading my blog. It means a lot to me.

The more I venture to South Indian films, the more I love it. Now, I tell all my friends that India has is a beautiful country with lots of languages and cultures.

You are definitely right on the Northern India. I've blogged it about it here about it. My North Indian friends won't watch a South Indian movie!

I've always wanted to visit India. However, now I rather go to South India, especially to Kerela.
